What is included?

Why did my Luna shut off?

For safety purposes, the Luna will automatically shut off after 30 minutes of use.

Is the Luna an open or closed system?

The Luna is a closed system pump, which means when used properly, there is no backflow of breastmilk into the tubing and pump. This prevents mold from growing in the pump and tubing.

What is the suction level of the Motif Luna? 

The Motif Luna has a suction level of 280mmHg. 

Is the Motif Luna hospital grade?

The term "hospital grade" refers to a pump which is meant to be used by multiple users. We warranty our pumps for just one user, so we do not consider our pump hospital grade, however, the Luna is hospital strength. The pump has the highest suction level currently available on the market, and features backflow protection, like any hospital grade pump would. 

Are the plastic parts BPA free?

Yes! All Motif collection containers, lids, caps, nipples, valves, flanges, and tubing are BPA free.

What are the Motif Luna parts made out of? 

Luna valves, tubing, diaphragm membranes and nipples are made of non-porous silicone. The diaphragm case, flanges, bottles, bottle caps, locking rings and bottle disks are made of Polypropylene (PP). The Motif Luna housing is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). 

Can I use a battery pack with my Motif Luna?

We have not tested any battery packs with the Motif Luna and can not recommend any as compatible. Note, the use of any battery packs with the pump will void the products warranty.

How quiet is the motor?

The Motif Luna has a quiet <40 decibel hum.

How much does the Motif Luna weigh? 

The Motif Luna weighs under 2 lbs. 

How much does the Motif Luna with Battery weigh?

The Motif Luna with battery weighs under 2 lbs.  

What is the difference between the Motif Luna and the Motif Luna with Battery? 

The only difference in these two models is the internal rechargeable battery built into the Motif Luna with Battery. This allows the pump to be used while unplugged. The pump can still be used plugged into the wall and will charge while you pump. 

Is the Luna available through insurance?

Yes, but coverage will vary depending on your specific insurance plan. To find a supplier who can help get your Motif Luna through insurance, use the Motif Insurance Locator Tool.

What is the voltage?

Adapter: Input AC 100 ~ 240V (50/60Hz), Output: DC 12V/1.5A

What is the point of a backlit LCD screen?

A backlit screen helps you accurately see the modes, times, and levels in light or dark environments.

Is there a way to see a total number of hours that the Luna has been used for pumping? 

At this time, the Luna does not have the ability to track the total number of hours used.
