Using Freemie Cups

Hands free pumping is all the rage, and so are Freemie Cups! All Freemie cups can be used with any Motif Pump. The Next Generation Freemie Closed-System Cups are especially easy to use. If you have the open system cups instead you will need to create a closed system using a Motif Diaphragm in order to protect your pump from backflow. Continue reading for a step-by-step for each pump and cup combo!

Freemie Next Generation Closed-System Cups

Luna:

1. Connect one end of the tubing to your Luna Pump.
2. Insert the other end directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port. 

Duo:

1. Connect one end of the tubing to your Duo Pump.
2. On the other end, carefully twist the white tip off the tubing.
3. Next, insert this end directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port.

Twist:

1. Connect one end of the tubing to your Twist Pump.
2. Using scissors, cut off the white tip from the other side of the tubing.
3. Next, insert this end directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port. 

Freemie Original Open-System Cups: 

Luna:

1. Connect one end of a piece of tubing to your Luna Pump.
2. Assemble your Luna diaphragm and do not connect it to the breast shield.
3. Stretch the end of the tubing over the longest tip of the diaphragm (the side in which the white rubber sits).
4. Connect a second piece of tubing to the other tip of the diaphragm. 
5. Insert the other end of this tubing piece directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port. 

Duo: 

1. Connect one end of a piece of tubing to your Duo Pump.
2. Assemble your Duo diaphragm and do not connect it to the breast shield.
3. Carefully twist the white tip off of the unattached tubing end.
4. Stretch this tubing end over the wider tip of your Duo diaphragm.
5. Connect a second piece of tubing to the other tip of the diaphragm (where it normally attaches).
6. Again, twist the white tip off of the unattached tubing end.
7. Next, insert this end directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port.

Twist: 

1. Purchase a set of Luna diaphragms and Luna Tubing to use with your Freemie Cups. 
2. Connect one end of a piece of Twist tubing to your Twist Pump.
3. Assemble your Luna diaphragm and do not connect it to the breast shield.
4. Using scissors, cut off the white tip from the unattached end of the Twist tubing.
5. Stretch this tubing end over the longer tip of your Luna diaphragm.
6. Connect a piece of Luna tubing to the other tip of the Luna diaphragm. 
7. Insert the other end of this Luna tubing piece directly into the Freemie Tube Connection Port
