Is the Motif Aura Glow available through insurance?

How many modes does the Motif Aura Glow have?

The Motif Aura Glow has 4 modes: Massage Mode, Expression Mode, Cluster Feeding Mode and General Pumping Mode. The Motif Aura Glow has 9 levels within Massage Mode, Expression Mode and General Pumping Mode. There are 5 levels within Cluster Feeding Mode.

How do I position my Motif Aura Glow for optimal suction?

It is important to properly align the nipples into the center of the flange and have the pump firmly pressed against the breast to make a suction seal. If the pump is loosely fit, the suction generated from the pump may leak and cause a low to no suction.

Is the Motif Aura Glow BPA  free?

The Motif Aura Glow is BPA, PVC, DEHP, and phthalates free.

How much breast milk do the collection containers hold?

The Motif Aura Glow collection containers hold 6 oz. of breast milk.

How long does the battery last?

If the pump is fully charged, it will last approximately 90 minutes.

Can I pump while charging my Motif Aura Glow?

No, you cannot pump while charging your Motif Aura Glow. We recommend charging the pump when there is only 1 bar on the battery display and it is blinking.

How do I turn the Motif Aura Glow on/off?

Hold down the play/pause button to turn the pump on. Short press the play/pause button to start the pump. Hold down the play/pause button to turn off the pump.

What is Cluster Feeding Mode?

Designed with a lactation consultant, Cluster Feeding Mode is a mini power pumping mode that imitates a newborn’s cluster feeding to help boost milk supply. Cluster feeding naturally occurs when a baby breastfeeds multiple times within a short period of time only taking quick breaks, signaling the body to produce more milk. 

What is General Pumping Mode?

Designed with a lactation consultant, General Pumping Mode is a mode for everyday use that begins in massage mode and switches to expression mode after 2 minutes. This repeats twice for 2 letdowns.

What breast shield and insert sizes are available with the Motif Aura Glow?

The Motif Aura Glow includes 2 24 mm breast shields and 2 flange inserts each in the following sizes: 15 mm, 17 mm, 19 mm, and 21 mm.

27 mm breast shields and 11 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, and 14 mm flange inserts are available separately.

How do I fit my flange and inserts?

Make sure that the proper flange size is being used. The nipple should not be too tight or loose inside the flange tunnel and the nipple should be able to pull back and forth easily when pumping. It's essential that a good seal is created between the breast and silicone inserts and that the correct size insert is used.

What bra should I pair the Motif Aura Glow with?

A bra that is tight enough to firmly hold and press the pump against the breast for a complete seal. We recommend an adjustable bra with some support. Please see section 9.3 of the product manual for instructions on how to position the pump in your bra.

Why is there low or no suction?

If there's a loss of suction while pumping, it could be for a variety of reasons. Follow the instructions below to diagnose the issue.

Test pump motor:

Separate the main body from the Collection Container, put the main body in the palm of your hand, and check whether there is suction in the palm of your hand. You should feel a slight suction. If you do not feel any suction, there could be a problem with the pump motor.

Test for proper installation:

Check the valve, diaphragm, and breast shield for damage and make sure they are properly connected. Disassemble and properly reassemble.

Check breast shield size:

Check to ensure use of the correct breast shield size. If any damage to the breast shield is apparent, replace with a new breast shield.

How do I sterilize my Motif Aura Glow pump parts?

1. To sterilize parts, place all pump parts (except motor)  in a pot and cover them with water.
2. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes.
3. Remove all parts with clean tongs.
4. Place parts on a clean paper towel or dish towel and allow to air dry completely

How do I clean my Motif Aura Glow?

1. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water.
2. Disassemble each part that comes into contact with breast milk including the diaphragms, valves,  flange inserts, breast shields, and collection containers.
3. Rinse each part with cool water to remove milk residue.
4. Options for washing pump parts:
   • Separately wash each part in the sink with a soft brush and soap. (Be sure to use a new brush or washcloth exclusively for breast pump parts) OR
   • Soak each part in warm, soapy water for 5 minutes and then thoroughly rinse them.
5. Dry each part with a clean towel or allow to fully air dry on a sanitary surface, such as a clean paper towel or clean dish towel. Do not pat dry.
6. Wipe the outside of your breast pump with a dry, clean towel. Do not wash the outside of your breast pump with water or get your breast pump wet when cleaning it.

Please note: It is not recommended to wash and dry Motif breast pump parts in the dishwasher. There is no standard temperature for dishwashers and some may warp parts. Parts damaged in the dishwasher are not covered under warranty. Please see product manual for further cleaning instructions.
