Why is the temperature alarm going off?
The patient's body temperature may rise if the patient and light pad are wrapped in a material that does not allow heat to escape; such as a blanket or clothing. To minimize the heat between the light pad and the patient, the patient should not be wrapped in a blanket or swaddled while receiving treatment.
How do I rest the BiliTouch if a high-temperature alarm is triggered?
Turn off the BiliTouch and allow a minimum of 30 minutes for the light pad to cool down fully. Before restarting therapy, ensure the patient is not wrapped in order to allow heat to escape.
What does the yellow light bulb icon represent on the control unit display?
This alert signifies a communication issue between the lightpad and the control unit. Ensure the lightpad connector is properly attached to the control unit. The arrow symbol on the light pad connector needs to be face up when attaching. When disconnecting, pull the connector ‘collar’ toward you.
Why is the LCD screen off?
If there is no button pressed for 10 consecutive minutes, the LCD display automatically turns off; the device will continue to operate normally. The LCD display can be turned on by briefly pressing any of the buttons on the control unit.
Please note:
- Do not use the device without a disposable cover
- Patient’s back should always be placed in the center of the lightpad
- Always protect the infant with eye protection designed for use for phototherapy
- Do not use the device with other thermotherapy devices such as incubators or heaters as they may affect the patient’s body temperature
- To minimize the heat between the light pad and the patient, the patient should not be wrapped in a blanket or wrapped too tightly
